[Another PSA from a certain Mr. Waltz, who still keeps a crisply pressed suit to this day. He has his ways.]
Upon discussion with other Anchorites, it was noted we don't have much sense of community. Or any sense of community. A lot of us don't know our neighbours very well, whether it's due to lack of time, energy, or interest. Myself included.
With everyone coming from different times and places, with vastly different experiences, it isn't always easy to personally connect. Upon first glance we are all so much more different than we are the same, but in my line of work I've learned there are a few fundamental similarities no matter who you are, or where you go. From Africa to Anchor. Most everyone likes to eat, or at the very least, likes to have a good time.
Nothing is on fire at the moment, and we have quite a few recently discovered resources to utilize and enjoy.
This is the perfect opportunity for a party. It doesn't have to be fancy. A potluck would be an excellent way to share ourselves, and our cultures, with one another.
We can all step away from our business and anxiety for one night to put faces to names, and live a little instead of just surviving.

i was just about to throw a meet and greet party myself!
great minds think alike i suppose
where were you thinking to have it?
[ Since like... she's already been working on cleaning the VR Room lobby... and it would kinda suck if that turns out to be wasted effort... ]

That, or perhaps a more intimate environment. Someplace people are inclined to mingle.
Food and drink has a way of bringing people together, but it doesn't hurt to have a little entertainment. I do know someone who is musically inclined. I'm certain he would assist.
no subject
hmmmmmmmmm
[ Just as she suspected. The neatly pressed suit and neatly worded announcement did not deceive. This man... is planning to throw... a BORING GROWN-UP PARTY. Absolutely unconscionable! It's a good thing she's here to intervene! ]
now dont get me wrong mr waltz
food drink and music are great and all
but that is sort of the bare minimum dont you think
for a really good party youll also need fun and games!
thats why i was going to throw mine at the vr room
theres a big lobby with a bunch of arcade machines there
and ive already spruced it up quite a bit in preparation

[ Plus, it presents an opportunity to gather information. Get an overall measure of the colony's inhabitants, their strengths, their capabilities. Figure out who's most useful where... but also who he needs to keep an eye on.
And I guess also "relaxing" and "having fun"?? Look, he can try, but no promises. ]
Actually, how about including a raffle? Just a small incentive to turn up and stay a while. I could throw together a little something for a prize. [ And to enter, all you have to do is fill out this short survey... Yeah, this is entirely an excuse to data mine. ]

[On so many levels. Cam's recorded pertinent information on almost every inhabitant since his very arrival, for the very same reasons.
Diplomat. Spy. Potato. Po... you know.]
A raffle? Maybe. It depends on the prize. I'd like to keep things simple, to encourage the participation of our less social comrades.
wow rude stealing his username

[Looks like they're stuck here for the time being, and it looks like they're going to have to work together to make the place more comfortable (and to stop parts of it from falling apart). So... hey, why not. She's sure there's a bunch of people here that she still hasn't spoken to.]
There gonna be booze? People loosen up when they've had a couple of drinks.
