[Newt is in the park on the lower level but there's something a bit... different here all the sudden. It's hard to tell what he's standing in front of, because it's completely covered in some sort of fungus.

He looks a bit concerned.]

Guys, we might have problem.

[He pans the camera around the immediate area, and it's all the same, everything in sight covered in the same sort of fungus, and when he takes steps toward the edge of the lake, the angry red algae doesn't look much better.]

My gut says if it's red, you're dead.

She is a high school freshman with no survival skills to speak of. But if there's no qualified personnel, problems like these fall to the unqualified... ]

[Weirdly, Newt has been in situations that left him with tons of survival skills, but nothing quite like this. So he's not got much of a leg up on Ami, either.

He blows out a breath in a long sigh.]

I dunno, uh-- I think Ben's on the right track, with the analyzing idea. We got some science-y folks around, maybe they figure it out, if... we can find a way to get samples for 'em. I'm just...not sure how't do that without touchin' it.

Yeah, that's an idea. [He shrugs. He's talked to the bloke a couple times. Met him in that lab place with all the busted half-started projects. Actually, yeah, that suggestion makes complete sense.]

alright he said he's working on it and he'll let us know if we can do anything
in the meantime we are to keep staying away from it
and I've decided to put my skills to work providing moral support for the people who actually know what they're doing :'D

Good to know. And yeah, staying away definitely seems like the smart plan. Is he gonna be all right, collecting anything for samples? [He may not know Peter very well yet, but he sure has figured out the bloke is big on the science, all right.] Moral support is important, absolutely. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, either.

the colony is so big and there's so few of us here
you could easily go days without seeing another human being
so it's no wonder really

Yeah, we are sort of weirdly spread out, aren't we? I mean-- I know the housing is all sort've in one space, but... none of us really hang out there constantly or anything and we're all in our little areas of-- [He waves his free hand.] wherever, at any time... Kinda weird. [He frowns a bit.]

Maybe we should change that, actually... maybe make some sort of group meeting of sorts at some sort of mutually agreed upon interval. Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, whatever... [He's sort of had a bit of time outside of that cage he'd been stuck in to start trying to gain some footing around here and it all reminds him so much of The Glades, apparently it's got him slipping back into that second-in-command role to Alby's leader one.

There's the teeniest little blink-and-you'd-miss-it flicker in his expression at the thought of his old friend. Alby deserved so much better than he got.]
