[What's UUUUUUUUUUUUUP Anchor. Hope you guys like awkward teenagers, because this one's all up on your network with an announcement.
Peter's not what one would call a professional when it comes to recording videos, but he's figured out how to work the communicators efficiently enough to where there isn't to much awkward fumbling between the time he starts recording and the time he sets the comm down. It's not the most exciting video ever, just some scruffy looking kid in a slightly oversized jacket standing in a creepy, abandoned lab of some sort, surrounded by dusty computers and abandoned equipment. I mean, there's probably been a horror movie or two that have started off this way, but don't think too hard about that.]
Hey, um. I... didn't plan this part, so I'm uh, just gonna wing it. So, my name's Peter. Peter Parker, I'm from New York. People from Hadriel might know me, I was there for... I wanna say close to a year? So that's, um. That's me.
...Hi.
[Okay, that introduction probably wasn't quite as painful as it could have been, even with the awkward little wave he tacks onto the end of it. He isn't any more comfortable about being in front of the camera than he was a moment ago, but now that the introduction is out of the way, the whole getting down to business part does seem to come a bit easier. He clears his throat and stands up a little straighter.]
Anyway, uh. Two things. One, I know there's a lot of crazy like, sci-fi technology around here, I know people are probably pretty confused about how to get it to work and how to repair it. Um, I've got it figured out, for the most part. I can- I can get at least some of this stuff working again, if not most of it. I can probably make replacements for other stuff that's beyond repair. There's kind of a lot of ground to cover around here though, and I haven't had a chance to really explore everything. So, um, I'm gonna need your help. What I need from you guys is to help me find and prioritize what areas and equipment need attention first. Like say, the medbay, life support equipment, other things we need to like, live.
And before anyone asks, no, the bartender robot doesn't count as a high priority project. Sorry, guys.
Okay, thing two. I'll be setting up shop in the R&D area for... y'know, R&D things. It's below the agricultural areas. I'm gonna get some kinda station set up here where I can give you guys... uh, lessons, I guess? Like basic computer stuff, how to work some of the machines, how to fix the computers and machines if you need to. Like, anything you guys wanna know. The more people we have that know how to keep this place running, the better our chances of survival are, right? Right.
[Right.
And. That's it, he's out of shit to talk about. After a couple probably uncomfortable seconds of silence, he moves to grab his communicator to switch it off.]
And uh, that's it! Peter Parker, R&D, hit me up. Later!
[The end]

Fine, be the eleven-year old voice of reason.

I will be, thanks. And I don't look eleven.

So, if I find broken tech when I'm making exploratory rounds, point you in its direction?
I'm glad someone understands how this stuff works, because where I'm from, we still had payphones.
no subject
Woo, yeah. Well past payphones where I'm from. But yeah, just hit me up if you find anything and I'll add it to my... kind of gigantic list of projects.

It's fine, it'll take more than a few late nights at the lab to kill me. I mean, I had a building dropped on me once, and I walked away from it. This is nothing.

Are you the person who responded to my post about death and helping one another? The plumbering guy?
video
I'm not sure how I feel about being known as the plumbering guy, but yeah. That was me.
video
Fine. Fair. You're the guy I was talking with about plumbing, though, and we decided we could make up our own words if we wanted to. This isn't just the same account. You're the same person.
[ Maybe it's not that bad. Maybe he's just one of those guys with a perpetual baby-face. Maybe he is in his late twenties and just looks like he's not old enough to see an R-rated movie by himself. ]
Re: video
[He looks off screen at whatever reflective surface he has laying around, but no, his face is fine. He's so confused please help him.]
Re: video
[ She does not tell him that she's coming to have a look at him, but she absolutely is. That is the entirety of her plan so far. Never claimed it was a good plan. ]

video;
[Look, she'd go for the bartender robot (because she's getting kind of sick of tequila) but she realises that's not really high on the priority list right now. She can make her own drinks if she has to.]
And the shield. Won't last long if we start fucking frying to death, either.
Re: video;

[They could probably deal with it, but it would get in the way, and she's not about that if she can help it. Drawing up rotas to make sure people don't get sick while they're trying to plant isn't her idea of a good time.]
I've taken a look, but honestly? Not really my area of expertise.

Two things back at you, Peter. One, have you been able to access anything besides operations on those computers? I'm obviously up for helping to fix and maintain everything so we don't all die, but after certain experiences I think we've also gotta be checking for records. Or else what happened to the last residents will hit us too and we'll be just as screwed. And maybe there's something that'd tell us how the portal works? It's tech, somebody built it. I think there might be some intact hard drives in the mess of the library but I'm not an IT guy. If I can pull 'em out, do you think you could retrieve the data?
[ He hesitates before his thing two, because he's well aware that plenty of people stalk networks and he doesn't want to cause a panic, but... ]
Two, I think I need to make... let's call it a public service announcement about our failed rescue mission. We on the same page there?
Re: video;
Uh. Okay. One, I've mostly just been focusing on making sure the operations are all running properly and fixing them if they aren't. I'm not trying to slack off on the other thing, I'm just prioritizing, y'know? I'm going to check the library again for intact drives as soon as I can. In the meantime, this guy Ben and I found some old books in there that might have some useful information in them. You might wanna look him up and see if he's found anything out.
Two, yes. Absolutely. I think we need to get everybody on the same page.
Re: video;
[ He's maybe a little too focused on figuring out what happened because of their encounter with Joe. They have no idea how long it'll be before that starts happening to them, too, but Peter's right. Dying in the meantime isn't helpful. ]
I think I might know who you mean, I'll try to get in contact with him. For now, can I come by for a repair lesson? I make a decent plumber and carpenter, maybe that kind of skill will translate to fixing other things.
Re: video;
Yeah, uh. You can drop by whenever. I'm not super busy right now if you anted to get started early?
