Well, since we'll be spending the foreseeable future together, how about we try to get to know each other a little? My name is Ritsu Shikishima, and due to various circumstances, I have no world to return to (if it's okay, I'd rather not talk about it). And so, I can't say I'm really in a rush to get out of here or anything.

I was brainwashed in the last world I was in, so my memories are a mixture of the two... of events that are true, but I remember them in the wrong setting, or vice versa.

Favourite place here is the AZ. Good for just chilling out, even if you're not working on anything.

No, you wouldn't. If anything, if your brainwashing has suppressed any of your memories, they would come flooding back. For people who've purposefully sought out hypnotists to bury painful memories, it isn't necessarily a good thing.

And also... the process is rather violent.

I've dealt with altered memories the most, so that won't be a problem.

As for how... It's a little hard to explain, but the basic gist is that I'd have to shoot you. Not with a bullet, of course, but it'll still hurt.

Obviously I’ve been through quite a bit, but I’m not going to volunteer myself for something invasive and painful without knowing what could happen.

To be honest, I've only ever used this power before on people who were brainwashed into being hostile towards me. Since they were, of course, uncooperative, it was always resolved with a fight: I'd hit them with shots until they regained themselves.

For someone who isn't hostile, it shouldn't require anything special. Just the courage to stand in front of something vaguely gun-shaped, I suppose? I can fire it at a wall beforehand just to prove to you it doesn't fire real bullets. What it fires instead is more like... energy blasts comprised of my emotion, I suppose? So it can't cause tangible physical damage - it's more like an attempt to reach out to your psyche.

As for lingering effects, there's nothing longterm. You might feel physically and mentally exhausted in the immediate aftermath, but it won't last long.

Though, I should warn you that they call my power the "Catharsis Effect" because it inspires a cathartic release in emotions. One of the people I tried it on immediately broke down into tears from getting his memories back. If, by chance, that happens to you... well, I won't judge you; you wouldn't be the first, and it's really nothing to be embarrassed about.

[This is precisely what a puppy is like, Yamamoto is very puppy-like. The Yamamoto-san and sensei make him happy, not that he uses honorifics much just that other than a few people, not many who use Japanese are around. He is a tad homesick. Hayato does, he's accused Yamamoto of being full of nothing but rice and baseball, he agrees!]

You can just call me Yamamoto! I think we're going to be friends, Shikishima. We don't have a baseball diamond, but I set up on the top level where me and Genji train, I could show you.
