It seems I've ended up in a rather interesting place somehow.
Well, since we'll be spending the foreseeable future together, how about we try to get to know each other a little? My name is Ritsu Shikishima, and due to various circumstances, I have no world to return to (if it's okay, I'd rather not talk about it). And so, I can't say I'm really in a rush to get out of here or anything.
What about the rest of you? What were your homes like? Or, if that's too depressing a topic for some of you and you'd rather not dwell on the past, how about some questions to break the ice?
If you were to describe yourself with an idiom, which would you pick?
What do you like to do in your free time?
What's your favorite location here?
You can answer any or none of the above, or tell me something else about yourself you'd rather talk about instead. I don't mind.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting along with everyone here.

[Though... is it really okay to learn from someone called "baseball idiot"? Ritsu's just going to assume Hayato means it in the sense that he's an idiot who only knows baseball, not that he's an idiot about baseball.
But, well, if it's the latter... he supposes he'll have to find out the hard way.]
Where is it that you and Genji-san train? Is there a batting range here?
no subject
[This is precisely what a puppy is like, Yamamoto is very puppy-like. The Yamamoto-san and sensei make him happy, not that he uses honorifics much just that other than a few people, not many who use Japanese are around. He is a tad homesick. Hayato does, he's accused Yamamoto of being full of nothing but rice and baseball, he agrees!]
You can just call me Yamamoto! I think we're going to be friends, Shikishima. We don't have a baseball diamond, but I set up on the top level where me and Genji train, I could show you.
no subject
Well, if you're comfortable with it, then Yamamoto it is. And I'd love to see it, if you have time to show me!
no subject
Do you know how to get to the upper level or should I come to get you?
[Baseball; he always has time and he just finished work so bonus!]
no subject
It would likely be faster if you came to get me. I'll wait by the Arrival Zone.
text to action
[Yamamoto is a quick guy most days, so he is at the Arrival Zone in no time, he happened to be at the Quad cleaning up from work so he was able to grab the makeshift bat and ball he had come up with, he couldn't get a glove but he hoped another cruise ship came along or maybe he'd find one in the strip mall one day.
Either way, he'll be there baseball bat at his side, Shigure Kintoki over his shoulder, he goes nowhere in Anchor without it, just in case. When the newcomer approaches Yamamoto will know, he knows most everyone so new faces stand out and he lights up with a big friendly smile, calling out a greeting.]
Yo!
no subject
Regardless, Ritsu is relieved that the first person to greet him in person is Yamamoto. If it were someone a lot less friendly, or some sort of weirdo...
Well, it's best not to think of that. After a slight pause, Ritsu responds with a smile of his own.]
You brought your bat!
no subject
But right now it's all about his favorite thing next to his boyfriend. Baseball! Yamamoto definitely makes a great welcoming committee, he has an open, warm personality and is always glad to meet new friends.]
I figured I could show you a thing or two while we're up there!
[Yamamoto falls into step, leading the way automatically, he's pretty good around Anchor, has even poked into most of the buildings that it is safe to do so. It's the locked areas still thwarting him.]
no subject
[And of course, Ritsu will follow Yamamoto at a friendly distance, quickly adopting a chipper demeanor. He might as well match Yamamoto's enthusiasm with his own.]
I feel really grateful to have run into a kind person like you, Yamamoto.
no subject
Looking at his mentor here and some of his future decisions to come. The compliment gets a laugh and a sheepish head rub from the young man.]
Thank you! Most everyone here is nice, except Kabal and he hasn't actually done anything, I just don't trust him.
no subject
Is he someone I should be wary of?
no subject
He's reckless and doesn't care about the lives of others.
[Then as if it never happened he flashes a big grin at Ritsu, back to the cheerful teenager who started this walk with the other.]
But I don't see him around much, so you should be safe. You can always call me for help if something happens.
no subject
Ritsu meets Yamamoto's grin with a grin of his own.]
That's very reassuring to know. I'm so glad I met you before I could run into him. And... I'm relieved to hear that most people here are kind.
no subject
I think you'll like it here, even if you get homesick sometimes.
[By now they are the area where Yamamoto trains with the cyborg Genji, he's become a substitute father of sorts to the hitman and so he'll beam with pride and point out a decimated target.]
That's from earlier, Genji went all out, I'm hoping I can work one of his moves into my sword style like I did with Squalo's.
[As he talks he is moving around, grabbing his makeshift bases and other things that he leaves up here. There are so few people inside the large dome that most things are left undisturbed.]
no subject
So Genji did that and is teaching Yamamoto sword moves, and it sounds like someone named Squalo did so, too.]
You're a swordsman as well? What type?
no subject
Yes, Genji is here, Squalo is not and of course, Yamamoto misses him but the Cyborg taking him under his wing certainly helps. He is clearly proud with the way he grins to how his shoulders draw up straight when talking about his sword style.]
I am, I use my old man's Shigure Souen Ryu, I could show you sometime
no subject
When you have the chance, I'd love to see. You seem to be quite multitalented.
[What with baseball and now this.]
no subject
Genji has only strengthened that love in his time on Anchor and added his own influence, in the end, the young man will carry his mentors with him in every fight.]
Sure if you don't mind getting up early, I'm usually up here practicing first thing in the morning every day!
[He chuckles at the compliment, he just likes to do a lot of things, he also helps grow food for the colony, has built a fence, he still needs to learn to drive one of the vehicles but Poison seems like a good teacher for that. He is also good at most any sport he is given a chance at.]
