I think we might be talking about different things.

Right. Well, in my home, were an intruder ever foolish enough to attempt theft or hostility, we had enchantments to protect our bloodline from them. My room in particular had an illusionary wall in the closet with a barrier behind it that would allow in only me. That's where I went when in a panic.

Then yes, I suppose I do know a thing or two about panic rooms.

Can you tell me about them?

They're where you go when you want to remain safe from something else, hence the name. I cannot say what a technological one would look like, but the few safe places we had throughout the estate were well-hidden. You don't want just anyone finding them, after all, or they'd know where to look for you.

And if they do find you, such a room should be ready to protect you from external threats, either by a sturdy barrier or supplies inside the room.

She wonders if she trusts Carlisle - THIS Carlisle - enough to tell him what she's seen and heard. Her thumbs tap against the sides of her phone and she locks the conversation to just the two of them.]

Because I know there are some in Anchor. Maybe lots. I want to find some in case someone decides it's a good idea to break through to whatever is locked up down in that maintenance area that just opened up.

It could be really bad, Carlisle, but I know there are enough idiots here to make it a risk.

But I think it has something to do with what happened here; why everyone is gone. Why it looks like it was so violent.

Sometimes doors are locked for a good reason, and sometimes they should stay that way.

Is that his name? That fellow with the eye and the teeth said something like that, how it's what 'made it all go bad.' I assume even if he isn't completely mad, it's a bad idea to go sniffing around areas like that for now.

Not that that will stop certain individuals, of course. I expect one man in particular to already be gleefully plotting his next excursion.

I expect several people to start playing treasure hunter. What do they think they could find here that is possibly worth more than making sure we don't all end up with whatever happened to him happening to us as well? It's like they think they can take it all somewhere.
