So it isn't just this plant in particular, but using drugs in general cut off your ability to hear souls?
If that's the case I can see how it would be tempting to make a habit of it.

In a lot of ways it's not an easy world to live in, even somewhere as safe as his home. As far as I know, there aren't any such methods for mages in my world.
You just sort of have to get used to the screaming.
I was lucky at least and I grew up in a country where there aren't any trolls, so I didn't even know I could hear them until this year.
But I have friends who have had to hear them all their lives.

Out in the Silent World people who can't hear them are vulnerable.
There could be trolls nearby and they wouldn't know it.
I don't know how it would interact either.
But as far as I know there aren't any physical differences between mages and other people.
We get drunk, antibiotics make us not get infections, etc.
But it's a good thing, right? Not having had anything harder.
Because the harder stuff is bad for you?

depends on ur tolerance but if its ur first time take it slow
theres a lot of ways 2 use it
u can smoke it in like 10 diff ways or eat it baked into stuff or made into candy or vaporize it
