PSA RE: MEDBAY

Hey everyone,

For those who don't know me, I'm Commander Rufina Shepard of the Earth Systems Alliance Navy (Year 2186). More relevantly: I'm also a qualified battle medic for humans and aliens.

'But', I hear you say, 'she's not a doctor'.

Correct! I'm not.

But a battle medic can cover most injuries and ailments to be found in a place like this, particularly given this station's medbay. So if you get injured, come down to the medbay and I'll fix you up.

(And if you want to play tough-guy, please see me first and then you can show off your war-wounds. Trust me, gangrene isn't sexy and infections don't care about egos.)

I've heard a thing or two about that. And I have wonderful news for you! I'm a medic not a plastic surgeon.

And I can say categorically that chicks do not dig infected sores.

Hypothetically.

That someone electrocuted themselves plugging in a power generator. And still can't feel their hand.

That be something they should come in for?

Hypothetically, yes. They should come in. And hypothetically, have some scans and tests done.

[ In her time as Commander-functional-Captain, or even Anderson's XO, she never managed to get a good Pointed Chair Swivel when someone walked into her office. Now, finally, her dreams have come true: when Kabal walks in, she swivels her chair around to look pointedly at him.

There's a cheer from the crowd, fireworks go off, balloons are released, etc etc.]

[He rolls his eyes, glad he's wearing the half mask so she can actually see that, before plopping down into a seat and leaning his elbow on the table so he can clench his hand into a fist.]

Alright, tell me what the fuck is wrong with this.

[Meaning his hand. Which looks pretty normal. With the exception of the burn scars over his entire body.]
