[Crowley is in one of the rooms up in the newly opened area of Anchor. Not too much of the place itself is visible, but there's a long, thick streak of dried blood against the wall behind him and the park is recognisable in the background.]
I'm starting to doubt that this place was ever meant to be for any kind of refuge. Thoughts?
[There are less zombies up here and he's a fan of that, and he doesn't appear to be carrying a weapon... though there might be something in his hand off-camera. He tips his head forewards, snake-like eyes flashing over his sunglasses.]
I get it, this probably isn't news to anyone, but I like to check I'm not going crazy now and then.

But does it fucking matter?
no subject
[Eh, some of them were at the back of the line when they handed it out, he supposes.]
You're stuck here as much as I am, aren't you interested in knowing why?
That said, maybe he should have gone with Crowley, because now he is all alone out there and that's no good. ]
What makes you say that, my dear?
[ No, it's not that he doesn't understand why on a basic level, but it's one thing to say that it's far from a refuge now, and another to doubt that it ever was. ]
no subject
Could be the zombies, I dunno.
[He purses his lips slightly, looking around.]
But think about it. Why would a place meant to keep people safe be able to do something like that? Where's it coming from?
no subject
no subject
Unfortunate.
[It would be a simple thing if it were that easy to explain, but he doesn't like simple. Not in places like this one.]
You think that's all there is to it?
no subject
no subject
Sounds too simple. I don't buy it, angel.
no subject
[ Crowley, is there something you want to tell the class. Are you a conspiracy theorist. ]
no subject
He grimaces.]
Because there's never a simple explanation for things like this.
no subject
[ Even when angels and demons are involved. ]
no subject
[He purses his lips, giving a look around the room he's in. It's... nice, if a little dusty.]
And why.
no subject
[ You need to calm down. ]
no subject
Then what about the space suits? They can't have built it if they couldn't survive outside.
no subject
no subject
Fine, fine. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.
[The paranoia is real.]
But there's something weird going on here, Aziraphale. Beyond the bloody obvious.
no subject
Can you come back to the cabin?
no subject
For about three and a half minutes, give or take.]
Hm? What? Yeah-- why?
no subject
[ It worries him. What will happen if they get discorporated here? Is it better or worse if they don't actually end up returning back to Heaven and Hell? ]
no subject
[He taps the fingers of his free hand against the side of his thigh briefly, his expression twisting thoughtfully. The demon puffs out a quiet sigh and drags his attention away from the window.]
Alright, angel. I wouldn't want to worry you.
no subject
[ He will wait here. Impatiently. Wringing his hands. ]
no subject
Zombies. Honestly.
[The demon is carrying what looks like a thick piece of pipe. There appears to be blood on it.]
Uh. That's not mine. The blood, I mean, not the pipe.
no subject
Thank goodness. ]
no subject
[He doesn't quite expect that hug and stiffens very slightly, though only for the briefest of moments. Then he's tucking his chin against the top of Aziraphale's head and wrapping both arms around him, giving the back of one of his shoulders a gentle pat.]
You were that worried about me? I'm touched.
no subject
Of course I was. I love you.
[ Idiot. ]
no subject
Well, here I am. Miraculously unharmed. This place just keeps throwing up surprises.
no subject
[ He takes a deep breath, almost a sigh, and buries his face against Crowley's shoulder, just for a moment. Then, he finally steps back to take a proper look at Crowley, making sure there's no blood on him, as he brushes him off and straightens his clothes. ]
What I don't understand is where they came from. They have to survive on something, don't they?
no subject
Convinced a lot of the stuff here just survives on spite.
[He's also convinced that a lot of it is happening on purpose, but he thinks he's worrying Aziraphale a little with his occasional conspiracy theories. He grips the angel's hands as they move to try and straighten his clothes.]
I'm fine, angel. Promise.
no subject
His lips press together, but he doesn't try to pull his hands free. ]
I don't think spite is sustenance for anything.
[ A pause. ]
Except you, perhaps.
no subject
You know me so well.
[And they both know it's utter nonsense, but let him have his moment.]
It's not that bad out there.
no subject
What were you hoping to find?
[ Because he assumes Crowley went out for a reason. ]
no subject
[Not his usual thing, to decide to jump into something and get involved, but he's never liked how things happen here with little to no explanation and maybe he wanted to try and figure it out, just this once.]
I don't think it's that strange to want an explanation.
no subject
[ He pulls Crowley's hand over to kiss it in turn, then finally pulls free. ]
I also suppose you didn't find it.
no subject
[And he waves his freed hand vaguely.]
More frustrating nonsense. It's like the city, except there's no one I can go to to complain about it because they're all dead.
no subject
[ So, at the end of the day, is there really a difference? ]
no subject
[There isn't really a difference at all. But really, so long as he has his angel here, he doesn't care where he is.
He leans down a little to peck a kiss against the corner of Aziraphale's mouth.]
At least there's you.
