[She nods a few times when he talks about that thing in him, having had the same idea herself.]

I think it's... keeping him confused, as well. Maybe not on purpose.

[But, hey, she's not going to put anything past strange alien parasites. Maybe it is doing it on purpose, and maybe going to meet him by herself was the most idiotic thing she could have possibly done.]

There must be something in the computers. His cameras aren't the only ones here.

I mean, it's like coming out of his head. Maybe his face tentacles are like, attached to his brain? I dunno, I don't think I actually want to think about that right now. But yeah, I can check the systems later, see if I can turn anything up.

[YEP IT WAS PRETTY DUMB, but Peter can't even talk because he'd totally done the same thing.]

[Peter might not want to think about it, but Poison definitely does. She presses her lips together and holds back on the other questions she wants to air out, and looks down at their feet while they walk.]

He nods, not sure it's actually a good idea to lock the doors to the medibay in case there's some kind of emergency, but he gets why she wants him to do it. Sooo. He's just gonna do that as soon as they get inside.]

[She nods, and crosses the room to search for the spot that Joe showed her. Hopefully he isn't home... but she's sure he's dealing with a few other things right now.

The door to the panic room cracks open, and she waves Peter over to her.]

See? It's right here, and we would have never known.

What the shit, it's like right there! I was in here all the time back when that flu thing was a thing!

[very eloquent, Peter, well done. He hurries over to follow her, half flabbergasted that he'd managed to miss this and half super pumped for this mini-adventure.]

Mm, I know. We stood right there and had a conversation.

[She points to the floor, to where she and Joe had been speaking to each other not all that long ago. Then, up to the open vent in the ceiling.]

That's how we got in. There are vents everywhere.

[He looks up at the vent, hops up onto the ceiling to open it up and inspect it because of course he does. Dumb sticky spider powers.]

Kinda makes me wonder what other hidden junk we could find just running around in the vents.

It's like a maze up there.

[She doesn't think she could even find her way back to where she and Joe had first got into them.]

And we don't know what might be in there.

That... makes me want to check them even more? But it also makes me want to check them even less.

[Watch it be giant, mutated spiders. How's that for irony.]

[She shoots him a small half-smirk.]

There might be more giant centipedes in there.

[This does make him pause hmmmm]

I mean. On one hand, I can take 'em? Giant spider webs and all. On the other hand, yuuuck nope.

You're not thinking of going in there by yourself, are you?

[Her tone suggests one thing very clearly - if he goes in there, she's going in after him.]

I was, until you said that, and now I'm thinking that I maybe won't be going by myself?

[Yeaaah he figures she'll wanna go with. He's not too concerned, he'd totally probably maybe be able to protect her if they're attacked by anything weird.

Maybe. Okay, so he is a little worried.]

[He is entirely correct, though she wouldn't think too much about going up there on her own. It wasn't like Asinastra's palace, where the halls were wide and she could see what was coming. Something could creep up on her in there and she'd never see it, never be able to get away.

She knows that, and she doesn't want Peter to risk it either.]

You won't be. [Poison tells him with a small smirk.] Do you want to go up there with me?

[He presses his lips into a thin line and sighs, but ultimately decides that arguing isn't worth it. The only way he'd keep her from going into that vent would be webbing her feet to the floor or something, and he has a feeling that she wouldn't appreciate that at all. So.]

Yep. I'm going first, though. Just in case something is in there and decides to come at us. Fair?

[A delicately worded plea in concern for her safety might have worked just as well as webbing her feet to the floor, but Poison likes the idea of actually going adventuring with him far more than she likes the thought of staying behind.]

Alright. Fair.

[To say nothing of the fact that something might come from behind them.]

I'll make sure this door is shut tight, then you can pull me up.

[NAAAAAAAAAH nothing's gonna come at the from behind, they're totally probably safe.]

Sounds good. [He gives her a quick smooch on the forehead before he hops up into the vent to wait for her. Once she returns from shutting the door, he reaches down to her.]

[TOTALLY SAFE.

She has to jump to reach up to his hand, and if it had been anyone else she might have tried to find a stool. Peter, though? She knows Peter can pull her entire weight and more up through that vent.]
