[Gokudera has been using his bone loops and his flames outside of battle for a while. There are a lot of practical applications the flames have, and he just has to keep testing out what they can do on their own. Without any rush of training before a big battle, he's even learned how to sort of clone things with his cloud flames. He's not great at it... and is better with his rain and sun flames, but practice makes perfect.
