Inadvisable. If it falls, the impact would still cause severe damage to the colony. Anyway, we already know it's capable of extremely rapid growth - what's to say it won't simply grow back?

Counter its growth factor, prune it back, and ultimately, kill it at the root. That's how we'll deal with this thing.

Not sure yet. Controlled burns or freezing might be effective, or a chemical defoliant if we can synthesize enough of it.

It's a type of herbicide that operates by removing the leaves. Though a general herbicide would work just as well, I imagine.
